Morning light,
Surging through the coldness of the void,
So pure and radiant,
Undimmed in the brink of primal morn.
Rays of light,
Racing far beyond the reach of time.
So bright and blinding,
Sparkling in the mists of a world unborn.

The swirls of mist,
Grow longer, shaping into sprawling roots,
Ever writhing,
Twisting down into the darkness.
August branches,
Enclose deep within a mighty stalk,
Ever growing,
Reaching far into the frozen light.

What secrets lie hidden?
What knowledge untapped?
Between every fiber,
Spread in every branch,
Deep beneath the bark.

Come autumn,
And open the first cone,
And from that cone,
Fall the very first seeds.
Of one will come,
The moon and stars.
Of the other,
The land and the deepest woods.
Ill winds rise,
And whisk away a third seed,
And from that seed,
Will grow the first of mankind.

The Moon and stars!

What secrets lie,
Within these woods?
What knowledge untapped,
Hidden deep beneath the bark?

The life-tales of an ancient spruce,
One whose needles have basked,

Of agony and a grievous fate,
As amber tears,
Crackle under the hungry flames.
Tales untold,
Power from ages past,
Now burning,
In the cauldron of times to come.

Still glowing underneath the coals.
Yet not a memory remains,

Wisdom of olden days.
Rise from the cinders,
